With their high-quality sensors, powerful shooting modes and multitude of camera settings, smartphones have shown point-and-shoot cameras the door. Based on our in-depth testing, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is the best camera phone around. Its 12-megapixel dual-pixel sensor is a first in smartphones, enabling superfast autofocus so you never miss a shot. Large 1.4-micron pixels and a wide f/1.7 aperture let in more light than before for bright, vivid and sharp photos especially in low-light conditions. Even better news: that camera isn’t limited to the Edge. You’ll also find it on the slightly less expensive Galaxy S7 as well as on Samsung’s Note 7 phablet.
Best bang for the buck: Some of the best smartphone cameras around are on expensive flagships, but you'll find a great deal in the $500 Nexus 6P. Its 12.3-MP sensor with 1.55-micron pixels lets in plenty of light for sharp, vibrant shots. Thanks to the large pixel size, the Nexus 6P did particularly well capturing details in low light, beating the Galaxy Note 5.
I have one of the new Samsuung Edges and the photos that I have snapped with it are actually really nice. I was just reading that it isn't always the mp count. There are other factors one of them being the sensor. I can vouch for the Edge!
